ONAM CELEBRATION

The UKG Toddlers of PVM celebrated the Pon Onam festival.  Kids along with the teachers decorated the floor with colourful Athappookkalam.  Tiny tots narrated the traditional story of Asura king Mahabali’s arrival during the annual harvest festival of Kerala.  They spoke about ‘Athapookkalam’, the auspicious flower rangoli.  Kids chanted the song of Pon Onam.  The toddlers, dressed in tiger costumes, performed the Tiger dance, called ‘Pulikkali’, which reflected the macho spirit.  Kids also talked about the traditional Boat Race, which is conducted during Pon Onam.
