A Fiesta of Reading! A Celebration of Stories at Pushpalata Schools!

‘Pushpalata LitFest 2025 – the fourth Edition’ commenced with pomp and grandeur in Pushpalata Schools, Tirunelveli, on 6 August 2025.  It is an annual week-long celebration of books, to garner attention towards the joy of discovering and reading new books apart from the school curriculum.  Dr. Monika Rana, IAS, Commissioner Tirunelveli Corporation, presided over the inauguration, addressed the students and initiated the book fair.  In her address, she motivated the students to reading, explained the importance and power of reading and emphasised on how it builds character and allows one to journey to countless places through the pages of a book. This festival featured renowned authors such as Khyrunnisa, Karthik Venkatesh, Savie Karnel, Lavanya Karthik, Bijal Vachharajani, Vidya Mani, Salai Selvam and Dr. Sasi Kumar. The authors had interesting and interactive sessions with the students and shared their expertise.  Dr. P. Sasikumar, a Scientist at ISRO, Thiruvananthapuram, presided over the valedictory event and addressed the students unravelling complex science through simple, real-life stories and insights.

The Voracious Readers from Pushpalata Schools were identified and honoured at this special occasion. 

The book fair showcased a carefully curated selection of books celebrating the best of Indian children’s literature. The festival brimmed with joy, discovery and meaningful learning experiences.

The staff and the entire student body utilised the opportunity to interact and network with authors from the Indian Publication Industry.
