To stimulate the students to voice their opinions & concerns and to report the stories of the rural Indians, a two-day workshop on ‘Craft of Writing about Rural People’ was conducted for 50 students of class X on 5 and 6 April 2024. Priti David, the Executive Editor and Visaka George, the Senior Editor of PARI – People’s Archive of Rural India chaired the session and discussed the nuances and skills to be obtained in journalism. Students developed their skills in investigative research and fact-checking to uncover the truth and ensure the reliability of their stories.

They described the need to document the stories of rural India to know more about the occupational, linguistic and cultural diversity of India. They discussed with teachers on how to incorporate their stories in pedagogy.
