NATIONAL HANDLOOM DAY

National Handloom Day was celebrated during the weekly assembly of classes IV and V, aiming at creating awareness about the importance of the handloom industry in India.  Students presented facts about the amazing Handloom Heritage of India.  Ms. Hema, Shivani Boutique, was invited to the Assembly as a guest speaker.  She shared facts about the Handlooms of Tamilnadu – Kanchivaram silk and Madurai Chungidi sarees.  She also spoke about the difference between handloom and power loom.  Students understood the heritage of the Indian Handloom industry and also the importance of supporting Handloom weavers.
