With the aim to raise global awareness about
consumer rights and needs, World Consumer Rights Day is observed every year.
A special assembly was conducted online to observe World Consumer Rights Day
on 19th March 2021. The program started with the prayer song. An introductory talk
explaining the need to protest against market abuses and social injustices which
undermine the Consumer’s rights was delivered by a student. Ms. Rita Rose M.com.,
B.Ed. from Pushpalata British International School was the Guest Speaker. She
enlightened us with her inspiring and powerful words that created an awareness on
consumer rights. Students of class 7 and 8 showcased their acting skills by
performing a skit and imparted the knowledge on consumer protection Act.
Asweetha of class 7 presented a video on Adulteration and suggested a few ways to
identify the adulterated food that we consume every day.
“Consumers are the real heroes” – was the wonderful message conveyed by our
children by performing a lively and a melodious jingle.
Saranya Shree of Class 7 conducted a sparkling and an interesting Quiz that
triggered the curiosity of our students. The students eagerly participated in the quiz
and shared their knowledge on 8 Basic Consumers rights.
The School Choir sang an awareness song to insist the Consumers rights..
In conclusion, this special assembly was an eye-opener for our students as we had a
chance to spread awareness on consumer’s importance, their rights, and
responsibilities.
