INTERACTIVE SESSION WITH MR. DINESH KARTHIK
The management and staff of Pushpalata Schools organized an interactive session with Mr. Dinesh Karthik, an Indian wicket-keeper and batsman who made his debut for the Indian cricket team in 2004. He became captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders Indian Premier League team during the 2018 season. Since then he is a member of the Indian cricket team. This session was organized at 11 AM, on the 25th January 2020 at the Tapovan Hall, Pushpalata Schools.
400 students who were actively involved in sports were invited for this interactive session. Mr. Dinesh Karthik, in his opening speech insisted that every student should take both academics and sports seriously, since both were inter-connected. This would definitely make one successful in life.
Many questions were asked to Mr. Dinesh Karthik for which his response was truly brilliant, encouraging and motivating. On replying about his favourite IPL Team which was Chennai Super Kings, there was a huge round of applause from the students and other spectators.
Karthik began playing cricket at the age of 10. He honed his reflexes at a young age by having his father throw hard leather balls at him at high speed. He started playing cricket as a Batsman then turned to the wicket keeper. He made his first-class debut in 2002 for Tamilnadu and Robin Singh considered him very fit.
