The Annual Sports Day 2024 of Pushpalata Schools was held on the 2 nd February 2024 at the school Ground. It was a great privilege to have Mr. Sujith Kumar, AVP and HR Head at Infosys, Chennai as our Chief Guest. He is also the Founder and Trustee of Maatram Foundation. The Chief Guest hoisted the School flag, declared the Sports meet open, lit the Olympic torch and released the pigeons. He addressed the gathering insisting on the importance of playing outdoor games and to minimize the use of mobile phones for physical well-being and for shaping the future.
The Annual Sports Day2024 commenced with the Prayer Song.
The ceremonial parade was led by the Head Girl and the School Pupil Leader of Pushpalata Schools. They were followed by the School Band and following the School Band we had, The NCC, Bharat Scouts and Guides and Junior Red Cross. They were in-turn followed by the various houses of Pushpalata Schools. In total, there were over 600 Athletes in 13 contingents.
Prizes were given to the Outstanding Performers, Individual Champions and the overall Champions of Pushpalata Matriculation Higher Secondary School. The Overall Championship- Winners Shield was pulled off by Butea- the Red House and the Runner up Shield was secured by Melia- the Green house.
The powerful and energetic athletes of Pushpalata Schools showcased their talents and skills in the relay events conducted in the Annual Sports Day of Pushpalata Schools.
Martial Arts performances like the Karate Display and Silambam Display were breath-taking. The hoops drill by the tiny tots from grades 1, 2 and 3, the holistic yoga by the kids of grades 4 and 5 made the spectators spellbound.
The vibrant Oyilattam performed by the students of classes 6 and 7 and the colourful RISE – a cloth drill by the students from grades 8 and 9 added fame.
Great cheers to the dynamic compering team and the charming Choralists of Pushpalata Schools for adding energy to the entire show by their fantabulous presentations in the Annual Sports Day 2024 of Pushpalata Schools.
A magnificent float entitled ‘Space History of India’, depicting the Architects of ISRO and the 12 Indian scientists and the energetic athletic drill by the students of class 11 revealed India’s incredible achievements in space technology in the 38th Annual Sports Day of Pushpalata Schools.
The Annual Sports Day 2023 of Pushpalata Schools filled everyone with loads of ‘Power’, ‘Self- confidence’ and of course ‘Winning spirit.’
In the end the Olympic Flame was extinguished and the School Flag was lowered. The Annual Sports Day 2024 of Pushpalata Schools ended with the National Anthem.
