Pushpalata Education center (Pushpalata Vidya Mandir, Pushpalata Matriculation School,
Pushpalata British International School and Mitra centre for autism children) celebrated
Pushpalata LitFest from 22nd to 26th August, 2022.
The Festival featured eminent authors such as Asha Nehemiah, Vijayalakshmi Nagaraj,
Devika Cariappa, Kavitha Mandana, Lubaina Bandukwala, Vidya Mani, and Vishnupuram
Saravanan. They conducted sessions based on their book. Storytellers Rathy, Chandramohan
and Vikram Sridhar conducted storytelling sessions using music, props, masks and puppets.
Prior to the Festival, literary and art activities were conducted across the school on the themes
of Nature and Indian history. Students drew their favourite thing about Tirunelveli and their
favorite books and created over 1000 artistic masks. The colourful artwork was then
displayed for students and parents to interact with.
As part of the festival, Funky Rainbow, a Bangalore based children's book shop, conducted a
book fair from 22nd to 26th Aug 2022. The book fair was open to the public on 27th August.
Teachers and the entire student body took the opportunity to interact and network with
authors and performers from the Indian Publication Industry.
