The vibrant campus of PBIS resonated with energy, enthusiasm, and sporting spirit on 31
January 2026, as the school celebrated its Annual Sports Meet with great zeal and splendour,
under the theme, \u201cThe Spectacle of Sparkles and Spells.\u201d. The occasion was graced by our
esteemed Chief Guest, Lt. Col. Karthikesh Kasinath, Commanding Officer, NCC
Battalion, Tirunelveli, whose distinguished presence added pride and inspiration to the
event. In his address, he highlighted the vital role of discipline in all walks of life,
emphasizing how sports instil self-control, perseverance, teamwork, and character in young
minds.
Under the able guidance of our respected Correspondent, Mrs. Pushpalata Pooranan, and
our Principal, Mr. Godwin S. Lamuel, the programme commenced with a warm welcome to
the Chief Guest. The ceremonial unfurling of the school flag and the formal declaration of the
Sports Meet by the Chief Guest marked the official beginning of the event, setting an
inspiring tone for the day.
The PBISians impressed the gathering with a disciplined and synchronised March Past,
accompanied by the spirited performance of the school Band, drawing loud applause from
the audience. The atmosphere was further enlivened by a series of colourful and creative field
displays that reflected unity, coordination, and sportsmanship.
The youngest learners from Grades 1 and 2 charmed the audience with the delightful Gypsy
Crystal Ball display, followed by the imaginative Wizards\u2019 Magic Wand performance by
Grades 3 and 4. The Slinky Spring Drill by girls from Grades 5 to 9 showcased grace and
precision, while the 8-Rings Drill captivated everyone with its perfect timing and formation.
Demonstrations of Archery, Karate, and Yoga highlighted the students\u2019 strength, focus,
flexibility, and commitment to physical and mental well-being.
The event stood as a true celebration of discipline, teamwork, and holistic development,
leaving a lasting impression on all present. The Annual Sports Meet concluded on a proud
and patriotic note, reinforcing the values of dedication and excellence that PBIS strives to
instil in every student.
