Sports Day 2024

The exuberant atmosphere of PBIS overflowed with enthusiasm, zeal, and joy on 3 February 2024, as the school joyously celebrated its Annual Sports meet. This year’s distinguished guest, Commodore Nishant Kumar, the Commanding Officer of INS Kattabomman, graced the occasion with his presence. In his address, he captivated the audience by delving into the rich tapestry of warfare history, while also passionately advocating for fair play and unwavering sportsmanship.

Under the expert guidance of our Correspondent, Mrs. Pushpalata Pooranan, and Principal, Mr. Godwin S. Lamuel, the event commenced with a warm welcome extended to Commodore Nishant Kumar. The ceremony unfolded with the unfurling of the school flag and the official declaration of the meet, marking its commencement by the Chief Guest. The lighting of the sports torch added a ceremonial touch to the proceedings.

PBISians showcased a spectacular and well-coordinated march past, met with thunderous cheers from fellow students. The track events, both for boys and girls, were spirited competitions, with each house receiving enthusiastic support.

Adding an element of intrigue were the captivating field displays, embodying the essence of sportsmanship and unity. The highlights included the Ship Helm Drill by our youngest grades 1 & 2, a mesmerizing Ribbon Poi Dance by grades 3 to 5, and a captivating Sword Dance by grades 6 to 12. Additionally, a display of Yoga & Karate further showcased the diverse talents of our students.

The event reached its pinnacle with the grand finale of the Annual Sports meet, marked by the prestigious presentation of the winner’s trophy to the triumphant Amethyst team and the entire assembly singing the National Anthem in unison.
