PBIS celebrated its Dazzle Day 2023, an exclusive programme by our Grade 1 and 2 students, on March 23, 2023. It was under the guidance of our respected Correspondent ma’am, Mrs. Pushpalata Pooranan, our Principal, Mr. Godwin S. Lamuel and our Vice-Principal, Mrs. Natheera N Abbas that the event unfolded.
It was presided by Dr. M. Madhubala Manickavasagam, MBBS, MD, DNB, MNAMS, FICMCH, Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. In her speech, she remembered the contribution of teachers in her life and inspired the students to follow different paths of profession with confidence that stems from their time spent at a school that provides opportunity for growth in every aspect.
Based on the theme of Scintillating Sounds, the days events followed a plot set in The Carnival of Sounds. Four friends witnessed an array of experiences with sound in the different zones of the Carnival. Zone 1 was the University of Sound which was a PPT presentation about Sound. Zone 2 was The Sound of Sports that displayed the sounds of Yoga, Nunchaku, Carrom and Basketball. Zone 3 was a debate on ‘Is Sound Desirable?’ which was conveyed through the Six Thinking Hats strategy of Edward de Bono. Zone 4 enthralled the audience with the Sounds of Nature through a Fashion Show that had the kids dressed up as the different elements of nature. Zone 5 was the Sounds of PBIS, which was a video presentation of how a PBISian becomes a Global Citizen through varied learning experiences at PBIS. Zone 6 was a Lyrical Note’s Musical that showed how sound travelled from the earliest times to the present day. Zone 7 was Global Taps that Dance in which Bharathnatyam, Flamenco, Haka and Hula dances were performed. Zone 8 was The Voice Sonata where kids dressed as musical instruments performed a song on the musical note.
It was indeed an unforgettable evening for every 1 st and 2 nd grader at PBIS as they lit up the stage with their dazzling performances.
