Sports Day 2023 Celebration

The whole of PBIS was filled with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere on 28 January 2023 as the school celebrated its Annual Sports meet.
Our guest of honour for this year was Col. Bobby Joseph, Commanding officer 5, TamilNadu battalion, NCC. He emphasised on the importance of participation in all the events and the building up of leadership qualities. The whole event was conducted under the guidance of our Correspondent, Mrs. Pushpalata Pooranan and our Principal, Mr. Godwin S. Lamuel.
The event started with the welcome of the chief guest. This was entailed by the unfurling of school flag and the declaration of the meet open by the Chief Guest making the commencement of the ceremony, followed by the lighting of the sports torch. Our PBISians displayed a spectacular, impressive and a well synchronized march past. All the students cheered for the respective houses for the track events and relay race for both boys and girls.
The most intriguing aspect, was the splendid field displays that filled everyone present with a spirit of sportsmanship and unity. This year our theme was, ‘Mathematics, the magical marvel’. The students displayed a wide array of colourful and reverberant drills. The highlight of the event was the drill displays; ‘Cubes & Pyramids’ by our tiny grade 1 & 2 students; ‘Tangram’ display by grade 3 to 5 students; Transformation drill displayed by grade 3 to 5 students; ‘Circles’ drill with Hula hoops by our grade 6 to 12 girls and the ‘Lines & Intersection’ drill by our grade 6 to 12 boys. All students enjoyed the events and participated with full enthusiasm. Our Annual Sports meet concluded with National Anthem.
