Pongal Celebration

At PBIS, we took the lead with a grand celebration of Pongal. We celebrated
Pongal, the harvest festival which symbolises happiness, prosperity and joy
with full fervour. The event was conducted for the entire school to feature all
the fun and joyful activities that are indulged in during this season.
Our students had an amazing time marking the Pongal festivities, before they
broke off for their Pongal vacations. Smartly dressed in colourful ethnic wear,
they performed many enthralling songs and dances. The entire campus wore a
festive look with colourful Rangoli, sugarcanes and other decorations
enhancing the festival spirit. The mouth-watering ‘Chakkara Pongal’ cooked in
traditional pot by our staff was offered to the divine in all plausible sanctity.
Children went on bullock cart rides, played ‘Uriyadi’ and had sweet Pongal to
end the day with many fond memories. The whole day was enjoyed by our
students with great excitement and enthusiasm.
